How do you choose to eat yours?

Well hello there.

No idea whether anyone actually read my last blog... No idea whether you will read this one either. But that's my choice. I have CHOSEN to write this blog.

Choices are rather amusing.

Because if I didn't choose to write this blog, I would just be sitting around twiddling my thumbs trying to think of something to do.

Choices affect our lives in many ways...

Do you ever recall seeing an advert a few years back about the Cadbury Creme Egg & the many different ways to eat it?

If I recall correctly... One person even gets a chip & dunks it in there - Ooookay then!

But how do we choose to eat it?

Do we lick the insides out? Nibble at the chocolate? Bite a chunk off?

My method is to simply stuff it in my mouth & hope for the best (I do realise all this sounds fairly... wrong but I'm sure you found it amusing)

But if people like to do more of these things? How do they choose which method of consumption to do?

Choices seem to affect every single decision in our lives... Laaaarge & Smaaaall...

The other day I read a story in the newspaper about a couple who decided to go out for a walk & enjoy the spring weather...
During their walk they decided to sit on a bench & relax...
Then... an unmanned vehicle started rolling down a hill towards them. The elderly woman managed to dive out of the way but the car hit the gentleman & sadly... he's no longer with us. May he rest in peace.

Now lets think about this... If they didn't choose to sit down... If they didn't choose to go on a walk in the first place... The tragedy would never have happened...

Another choice... if we chose to lick out a Cadbury Creme Egg... we might not get to enjoy & experience the chocolate & creme together... What a sucky experience that would be (in my opinion).

I know the second one didn't quite compare to the first example but hey... I like to mix it up a bit.

Everyone makes bad choices. That is just something we're going to have to accept. Each choice affects our lives in many different ways...

I once had a choice... 3 girls fancied me (no joke!)... One was single & I had known her for 4 years previously... One was a close friend that was in an unhappy relationship & I didn't know when they would break up... One was someone I hardly knew that lived miles away.

Here is how I picture where I'd be now depending on the decisions I could've made...

Girl no.1: I'd be living with the girl & we'd be able to plan a future together
Girl no.2: I'd be single & lost a close friend after having a lovely short relationship with plenty of complications
Girl no.3: I'd have gone on 1 date... Not gotten on at all & ended it immediately.

I could go further into details of how my life would have been changed depending on the decision I chose to make but I shalln't.

All you need to know is... I chose Girl No.1.

But hopefully that'll help you see that depending on which decision you make you're life will be affected.

Now the trouble is... How do we choose the right choice or the wrong choice?

You want the magical answer? Well there isn't one. You need to do whatever you feel is best & see what happens.

If you feel that you have made a mistake... You were meant to make that mistake. If you want to try & correct it then go ahead! But make sure that you've learnt something along the way.

We can't let the choices we make haunt us... We can't do anything about it. We just need to pick ourselves up when we fall.

So if you're reading this very sentence, it means you chose to actually read this blog. Was it the right choice? Probably not so... sucks to be you.

But I hope you found it interesting & will go on... & have a Cadbury Creme Egg.

Think about this... How do you eat yours?

Where do I belong in life's giant bag of skittles?

Howdy! (That might be the first time I ever say that in a blog... Maybe...)

Have you ever looked at yourself in a mirror & thought: Hmm which skittle am I?

What!?!?!? You haven't!?!?!? Well then you must be quite at peace with yourself... Or I'm just completely bonkers - Which is quite possible.

I'm sure you've noticed, as I have many times, that there are many different colours/flavours of skittles. I'm talking about the lovely normal bag of skittles you get (not all those sour tasting things that make people like me go craaazzzzzzzzzy)

Let me remind you that we have:

Orange colour - Orange Flavour
Purple colour - Blackcurrent Flavour
Yellow colour - Lemon Flavour
Green colour - Lime Flavour
Red colour - Strawberry Flavour

I recently went on this rubbish quiz website where it tells you which skittle you are & why:

Green - ur bold and dont really mix well with ur oppsite. ur out spooken and people remeber you after u meet!
Red - Ur the best. u make the darn bag and everyone LOVES u. Ur the reason  y people open the bag.
Purple - u r sweet but sometimes to sweet people like u but somrtimes ur over looked
Yellow - U are different and some people may dislike u but r Ur own person
Orange - Ur awesome! people really like you and u don't make the bag but Ur sure are popular.

Now looking at those I thought 3 things:

1.) Oh my my my that person is baaaaad at spelling and grammar (then again my grammar is fairly poor!)
2.) I disagree with them completely.
3.)Those answers kind of ruin where I was heading with this rant about skittles...

NEVERMIND!!! I shall continue on!

In life, like skittles, there are different groups of people... E.g. Drunks, Nerds, Christians, Goths etc etc. (Yes I'm aware there are a million or so more types but do you really want me to list them all? I didn't think so!)

Now... time for me to get even further to the point...

There are those of us who don't know where we belong... We could be Christian or Nerd but don't feel like we fit in... As though we don't belong in that group... That we're outcast and feel as though no one will accept us or understand us...

In other words... we're that blue skittle we very rarely get in a pack. The odd one out.

But one must wonder... who doesn't love that blue skittle? If we find that odd colour in a pack, what do we do with it? Do we throw it in the bin? (IF YOU DO THEN YOU ARE A FOOL!)

No... the majority of us eat that blue skittle. We eat it. In other words... We accept it.
If you feel as though you're the odd one out in life... That doesn't mean that you're ALONE. It means that you're accepted. You're wanted. I'd love for every skittles packet to have a blue skittle or two in there.

And like that ever ellusive blue skittle in a packet of normal skittles... You're special.

So next time you're with a group of people & you feel left out and alone... Remember that you're the blue skittle surrounded by other skittles.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

If you have read all that and have decided that I'm just telling you a load of rubbish... Then I'm really sorry but I think I make sense.

Now please... go buy a packet of skittles & taste the rainbow... Be one with the colours.
